Background

As climate change, global warming and the subsequent environmental fallouts become focal problems for the world, it is now more important than ever that not only do we take steps to be more environmentally friendly on big fronts but also try and implement eco-friendly ideas in our daily lives. Community and youth involvement through innovation and education, especially of those who are vulnerable to the issues caused by climate change, is thus extremely necessary for us to head towards a brighter future.

This implies that it is important that the world of green product development is not gate-kept and instead, people from various demographics have the opportunity to express and develop their ideas. However, many underserved communities and individuals from underprivileged backgrounds do not have access to the knowledge and the tools necessary for such projects, with most resources being inaccessible and not catering to their needs.
